Alright, so you’ve mastered the Expert Mindset Prompt. You now have a team of world-class experts at your fingertips. But what if you could make them work together? What if you could create an assembly line where each AI expert performs a specific task and then hands it off to the next one?
That’s exactly what we’re talking about today. Welcome to the world of Prompt Chains.
(Text on screen: Prompt Chains: Your AI Assembly Line)
This is how we move from single tasks to automated workflows. It’s how you can take a simple idea and have it researched, drafted, and refined without you having to manually copy and paste and micromanage every single step. This is where the real multiplication begins.
What is a Prompt Chain?
A prompt chain is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a series of prompts that are linked together, where the output of one prompt becomes the input for the next.
Think about building a car. You don’t have one person do everything. You have a specialist who builds the engine, another who does the bodywork, and another who does the painting. Each one is an expert in their area. The car moves down the line, getting better and more complete at each station.
We’re doing the same thing with our content. We can have one AI do the research, another do the initial drafting, and a third one come in to punch up the copy and add some personality.
This is how you leverage the specific strengths of different AI tools. Remember our AI Selection Matrix? Gemini is great for research. Claude is the king of content. By chaining them together, you get the best of both worlds.
[DOUBLE-CLICK MOMENT]
This is a picture of the body of Christ, isn’t it? We all have different gifts, and we are most effective when we work together, each contributing our unique strengths. Your AI team is no different. When you learn to make them collaborate, you create something that is far greater than the sum of its parts. You are orchestrating a symphony of creation.
A Practical Example: From Research to Refined Draft
Let’s say you want to write a blog post about the benefits of a digital detox for Christian women.
Here’s a 3-step prompt chain you could use:
Step 1: The Researcher (Gemini)
First, we go to Gemini, our research specialist. We give it a Research-First Expert Mindset Prompt.
Prompt for Gemini: "Act as a research assistant. Your task is to gather 5 recent studies and articles (published in the last 12 months) about the psychological and spiritual benefits of a digital detox. For each source, provide a summary of the key findings and a direct link. The output should be a concise report."
Gemini will go out and find the latest data, giving you a solid, fact-based foundation.
Step 2: The Drafter (Claude)
Now, we take that entire research report from Gemini and bring it over to Claude, our master writer. The output of Step 1 is now the input for Step 2.
Prompt for Claude: "Act as a Christian blogger with a warm, relatable voice. Using the research report provided below, write a 1,000-word blog post titled 'Silence & Selah: Why a Digital Detox Might Be Your Next Spiritual Breakthrough.' The post should be structured with clear headings, practical tips, and include at least two scriptural references.
[Paste the entire output from Gemini here]"
Claude will now take all that raw data and weave it into a beautiful, well-structured blog post that speaks directly to your audience.
Step 3: The Refiner (Claude, with a new persona)
The draft is good, but we want it to be great. We want it to have some punch, some personality. So, we keep the conversation going in the same Claude chat, but we give it a new expert role.
Prompt for Claude (in the same chat): "Now, act as a witty, direct, Gen Z copywriter. Your job is to punch up this blog post. Make the intro more compelling, sharpen the headings, and add a strong call to action at the end. Inject a bit more of a ‘big sister’ tone. Don’t change the core message, just elevate the style."
And there you have it. In three steps, you’ve gone from an idea to a researched, drafted, and polished piece of content. Each step was handled by a specialist, and the final product is infinitely better for it.
Your Turn: Create a 3-Step Prompt Chain
Now it’s your turn to build your first AI assembly line. Think of a piece of content you want to create—a newsletter, a social media post, a short video script.
Activity:
- Open your workbook to the "Lesson 2.2: My First Prompt Chain" section.
- Decide on a piece of content you want to create.
- Define the three specialist roles you’ll need. For example:
- The Ideator: Brainstorms 10 viral topic ideas.
- The Outliner: Takes the best idea and turns it into a detailed outline.
- The Writer: Takes the outline and writes the full piece of content.
- Write out the full prompt for each of the three steps.
- Think about how the output of Step 1 will feed into Step 2, and how the output of Step 2 will feed into Step 3.
This is a game-changer. Once you start thinking in chains, you’ll see opportunities for automation everywhere. You’re no longer just a content creator; you’re a systems builder. You are creating the engine that will multiply your message.
[DOUBLE-CLICK MOMENT]
This is what it means to work smarter, not harder. It’s about stewarding your energy. By building these systems, you free yourself up to focus on your unique genius—the things only you can do. You can spend more time praying for your community, developing new products, or simply resting in the presence of God, knowing that your content engine is running smoothly.
Go ahead, pause this video and design your first prompt chain. I can’t wait to see what you build.
